Due to recent instances, the Intercultural Centre points out that if an offer to buy an apartment is made and signed, it is binding. If the person making the offer changes his mind, the seller will have some sort of a damage claim on him/her.

Open house will be moved outdoors this summer when the weather is good. We will decide each time what to do exactly but we could for example play games, have a picnic, go to a concert or whatever we feel like doing. Tomorrow, Friday evening, we will choose some outdoor activity if the weather allows us but if not, we will watch a high cultural French movie.

The Open house starts at 20 and we will meet in the Intercultural Centre’s basement, Laugarvegur 37 (entrance from side alley).

In the autumn semester 2009, Menntaskólinn í Kópavogi is offering Office Skills Programme for students, over the age of 20, not having Icelandic as their mother tongue. The courses are taught both in basic Icelandic and English.

Students who successfully complete two terms of study will formally graduate from the school.

The Intercultural Day in Reykjavik was celebrated last Saturday in a wonderful weather. The celebration begun with a multicultural parade for peace which took off from Hallgrímskirkja and ended at Vonarstræti. Then the multicultural diversity was celebrated at the town hall and in the theater Iðnó with dance, music and songs from various countries. People of various age and nationalities participated in the parade and enjoyed the performances by artists from all around the world.

Flagsnight at the open house on Friday. We will make flags for the peace and unity parade, which is a part of the Intercultural day in Reykjavík this Saturday. The parade starts at 13.00 and goes from Hallgrímskirkja.

The Open house starts at 20 and is in the Intercultural Centre’s basement, Laugarvegur 37 (entrance from side alley).

 
A new project manager in the Intercultural Centre in Breiðholt PDF Print E-mail

A new project manager has been hired in the Intercultural Centre in Breiðholt. Her name is Erla Björg Gunnarsdóttir and she started working in this week. Kamilla Ingibergsdóttir, the former project manager, will start working at Iceland Music Export next week. Kamilla was the first project manager in Breiðholt and developed the project since the centre’s opening in September 2008.

The Intercultural Centre in Breiðholt offers for example international parents’ mornings and Heilahristingur, a homework assistance for students with Icelandic as a second language. You can also drop by every time at Gerðuberg and share your ideas about the work, get instructions regarding various subjects or just to chat.
