A new Intercultural Centre opened in Breiðholt in September 2008.

The centre is in the Gerðuberg Cultural Centre (Gerðuberg 3-5, 111 Reykjavík) and Kamilla Ingibergsdóttir is the project director. Activities are community based projects and immigrants are encouraged to participate. The activities and projects of the centre are a cooperative effort between local residents, institutions and associations.

Projects offered at the Intercultural Centre in Breiðholt:

-International parent's mornings

-Heilahristingur, homework assistance for immigrant teenagers in Fellaskóli and Hólabrekkuskóli

-Cosy Crew, collaboration project with Fjölbrautaskóli Breiðholts
