Einar K.Guðfinnsson, the Minister of Fisheries has recently signed an agreement regarding a cooperative project with the Ministry of Fisheries/Sjávarútvegsráðuneyti, The Committee on Vocational Education in Fisheries/Starfsfræðslunefnd fiskvinnsla, The Multicultural and Information Centre/Fjölmenningarsetur in Ísafjörður and The Intercultural Centre/Alþjóðahús.

Programs in up to 13 languages is broadcasted four times a week. Polish, Russian, Thai and English will however be the languages most commonly used. The purpose of the station is to increase the information flow to immigrants, to educate and to assist them with their integration into Icelandic society.

Rainbow Women's Choir of Iceland was recently founded. Choir members are women from all over the world.  The Conductor is Natalía Chow Hewlett, professional soprano singer and organ player, who also has great experience in conducting choirs.

New Icelandic language courses start in January. Emphasis is on spoken, daily language and communications.
