Because of cutback, the Intercultural Centre is forced to close the office in Breiðholt. We hope this is only temporarly and that we can offer service in Breiðholt some day again.

International parents‘ mornings will therefore not continue in Gerðuberg but Heilahristingur, homework assistance for children, will continue in supervision of Borgarbókasafn and Red Cross, Reykjavik‘s branch.

We want to thank all our guests and supporting parties for a good year.

Friday, 14 August 2009

Thursday, August 13th children and their families can take part in a walk where old and new outdoor children’s games will be introduced, and played. How did the children in Reykjavik play when this was a small town, and even back in the settlement time? Simple games will be played and the participants will also get to see old toys made of seashells and sheep-bone. The walk starts at Reykjavík City Library in Tryggvagata 15 and will take about an hour. All children and their families are welcome. The program is hosted by Reykjavík City Library, Reykjavik Museum of Photography, Reykjavík Art Museum and Reykjavík City Museum.

Famous Lithuanian singer in Iceland PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 14 August 2009

The most famous lithuanian singer A.Mamontovas gives a concert in Haskolabio on the 22nd of august 2009, at 7pm. The group 'Amberlife' that has been preparing its new album here in Iceland will also participate in the concert.

Icelanders might  remeber A.Mamontovas since the year 2006 when, together with the group 'LT United', they very sucessfully performed the song named 'We are the winners' in Eurovision contest. The singers are going to sing many old and new songs both in Lithuanian and English languages. Everybody will find something they like. The concert is for all age groups.

It is very important for us to have A.Mamontovas in Iceland and we are sure lithuanians and other, who want to get acquainted with lithuanian music, will have a lot of fun. This concert is held in cooperation with Lithuanian Embasee for Denmark and Iceland and to honor the consul in Iceland, Andres Magnusson. You can find more information on the concert on the website www.ltis.org

Looking forward to seeing you at the concert,

Board members of the Lithuanian-Icelandic society
